# Module Assignment M09 — Portfolio Launch Pack
## ARTTECHES Graphic Designing Mastery | Instructor: Ali Akbar Shah

**Weight:** Counts toward Module Assignments (25% of final grade)
**Module:** M09 — Portfolio and Final Project (Days 27–30)
**Time:** About 4 hours

---

## 1. Objective

Turn your course work into a professional portfolio: select your best pieces, write real case studies, build reusable templates, and prepare a freelancer-ready launch pack.

## 2. Design Brief (fictional scenario)

**Situation:** A small business owner is choosing between three new designers. They will look at each portfolio for two minutes and pick one.
**Your job:** Make those two minutes count. Present your 6 best course pieces as a tight, professional portfolio with case studies — plus the templates and QC system that prove you work like a pro.

## 3. Specifications

- **Portfolio:** 6 pieces (your best work from Days 01–30), presented as one PDF, A4 landscape or 1920×1080 pages.
- **Case studies:** Each piece gets a 4-part case study: (1) the brief/problem, (2) your process, (3) the final result (image), (4) what you learned. Max 120 words per case study.
- **Templates:** 3 reusable CorelDRAW templates you built (e.g., social post, flyer, business card) with placeholder text and images.
- **QC checklist:** Your own 10-point quality checklist.
- **Launch pack:** A one-page freelancer profile draft (services, tools, contact) + one sample proposal for a fictional logo brief.

## 4. Step-by-step Requirements

1. **Select your 6 best pieces.** Be honest — pick the strongest, most varied work (not 6 versions of the same post).
2. **Write 6 case studies.** For each: brief/problem → process → result → lesson learned. 120 words max each. Simple English.
3. **Build the portfolio PDF.** One piece per spread/page: big image, project title, 4-part case study beside it. Clean, consistent layout.
4. **Create 3 templates in CorelDRAW.** Real reusable files: named layers, placeholder text ("Your Headline Here"), placeholder image frames, correct sizes (1080×1080 post, A5 flyer, 3.5×2 in card with bleed).
5. **Write your 10-point QC checklist.** Things you personally check before sending work to a client.
6. **Draft the launch pack.** One-page profile (who you are, services, tools, contact) + one polite sample proposal for a fictional bakery logo brief (5–8 lines: greeting, understanding of the brief, what you will deliver, timeline, closing).

## 5. Deliverables

1. `GDM-M09-YourName-Portfolio-v1.pdf` — 6 pieces + 6 case studies.
2. `GDM-M09-YourName-Templates-v1.cdr` — 3 templates (separate pages).
3. `GDM-M09-YourName-QCChecklist-v1.pdf` — 10-point checklist.
4. `GDM-M09-YourName-LaunchPack-v1.pdf` — profile + sample proposal.

## 6. Submission Instructions

- Four files, named exactly as above. Case studies must be your own words.
- Submit before the deadline. Late work loses 10 points per day.

## 7. Evaluation Rubric (Total: 100)

| Criteria | Points | What earns full marks |
|---|---|---|
| Piece selection | 15 | 6 strongest, varied pieces; no weak filler |
| Case studies | 25 | All 4 parts present for each; ≤120 words; honest, specific, own words |
| Portfolio layout | 15 | Consistent, professional, readable; images large and sharp |
| Templates | 20 | 3 truly reusable templates; named layers, placeholders, correct sizes + bleed |
| QC checklist | 10 | 10 real, specific checks (not vague "check design") |
| Launch pack | 15 | Professional profile; proposal is polite, specific, and fits the fictional brief |

## 8. Common Errors

- Including weak work to reach 6 pieces (5 strong beats 6 with filler — but the brief asks for 6, so improve a weak one instead of hiding it).
- Case studies that only praise the result ("I made a beautiful logo") with no process or lesson.
- Templates that are just old designs renamed — a template must have placeholders and be reusable.
- QC checklist with vague items ("make it good") instead of checks ("all text inside safe margin").
- Proposal that promises results ("I will get you 1000 customers") — promise deliverables and process, never outcomes. No income or job promises anywhere.

## 9. Instructor Marking Guide

- Read all 6 case studies: each needs all 4 parts. Missing "what you learned" is the most common gap — deduct 3 points per missing part per case study.
- Word count: spot-check two case studies; clearly over 120 words = −2 each.
- Open the CDR templates: verify placeholders, named layers, and sizes (measure the card — bleed must be there). A "template" with real client text still in it = half marks.
- QC checklist: each item must be a checkable action. Vague items earn 0.5 instead of 1 point each.
- Launch pack: read the proposal for promises. Any guaranteed outcome/income claim = −8 and a written honesty warning.
