# Day 27 — Video Script
## Pro Workflow: Templates, Assets & Quality Control
**Runtime target: ~12–15 minutes | Instructor: Ali Akbar Shah**

---

**[0:00 — INTRO, camera on instructor]**
"Assalam-o-Alaikum! Welcome to Day 27. Today we stop working like beginners and start working like a studio. Three systems: templates, file organization, and a quality-control checklist. By the end, no file will ever leave your computer unchecked again."

**[0:45 — SCREEN: messy desktop with files named final-FINAL2]**
"Look at this — every designer has done this. 'final', 'final2', 'FINAL-really'. This is how files get lost and wrong versions get printed. Today we fix it forever."

**[1:30 — SCREEN: CorelDRAW, new document]**
"First, templates. A template is a starting document you reuse. I'll build a business card template: 90 by 50 millimeters, plus 3 millimeter bleed on each side — so 96 by 56. Color mode: CMYK, because this is for print."

**[2:30 — SCREEN: drawing guides]**
"Now guides: outer rectangle is the bleed edge, middle is the trim line where the cutter cuts, inner is the safe area — keep all text inside it."

**[3:30 — SCREEN: Object Manager docker]**
"Open the Object Manager — Window, Dockers, Object Manager. Four layers: Text, Graphics, Background, Guides. Lock the Guides layer."

*[CUE: zoom on layer names; narrator reads each layer's purpose]*

**[4:30 — SCREEN: color palette, placeholders]**
"Load your brand colors as named swatches. Add placeholder text — 'Your Name', phone number — and a 'LOGO HERE' spot. This is a mold, not the final product."

**[5:30 — SCREEN: File > Save as Template]**
"File, Save as Template. Name it clearly: BusinessCard_90x50mm_3mmBleed. Close it. The template stays clean forever."

**[6:15 — SCREEN: New from Template, then immediate Save As]**
"Golden rule: when you start a real job, open the template — then IMMEDIATELY File, Save As, with a proper name. Watch: 2026-10-29_SunriseBakery_Card_v01. Date, client, item, version. That is the naming system."

**[7:30 — SCREEN: file explorer, folder structure]**
"Every project gets one folder, same sub-folders every time: 01_Source, 02_Assets, 03_Fonts, 04_Exports, 05_Revisions, and a Brief.txt with the requirements and a change log. v01, v02, v03 — every change is a new version. Never overwrite."

**[8:45 — SCREEN: QC checklist graphic]**
"Now the QC checklist — run this before ANY file leaves your computer. One: spelling — read every word twice. Two: alignment — use the Align docker, nothing 'almost' centered. Three: bleed — background past the trim edge. Four: color mode — CMYK for print, RGB for screen. Five: image links — no broken images. Six: fonts — keep an editable backup, convert a COPY to curves for print. Seven: resolution — 300 dpi at print size. Eight: export settings — right PDF preset, right folder."

**[10:30 — SCREEN: live QC demo on the flyer]**
"Let me run it live on this flyer. Spelling — check. Alignment — select, align center — check. Bleed — background reaches the edge — check..."

*[CUE: narrator performs each check visibly, ticking them off]*

**[12:00 — SCREEN: clean Object Manager, ReadMe note]**
"Last: handoff. Clean source files — delete hidden garbage, name your layers, and include a short ReadMe: fonts used, color values, how to edit. That is respect for the next person."

**[13:00 — OUTRO, camera on instructor]**
"Your assignment: build three templates of your own and write your personal QC checklist. From today, no unchecked file leaves your machine. Tomorrow — Day 28 — we turn your best work into a portfolio. Allah Hafiz!"
