# Day-18 — Video Script: Carousel Design

NARRATION: "Welcome to Day 18. Yesterday you mastered the single post.
Today: the carousel — five swipeable slides, one story, and some of the
highest engagement on Instagram and Facebook. You'll learn the
storytelling arc, the one-template method, swipe hooks that keep thumbs
moving, and the numbered export sequence. Let's build one."

**[1:00 — SCREEN: paper plan]**
NARRATION: "Every carousel starts on paper — never in the software. I
write my five-slide arc: Slide 1, the hook: '5 TEA MISTAKES You're Making.'
Slide 2, the problem. Slides 3 and 4, the value — real tips. Slide 5, the
CTA. Notice: the hook's only job is earning the swipe. I spend forty
percent of my effort on slide 1."
SCREEN CUE: Show the handwritten arc.

**[3:30 — SCREEN: building the template]**
NARRATION: "New document: 1080 by 1080, RGB. Cream gradient background.
Eighty-pixel margin guides — nothing important crosses these. Bottom-left:
logo. Bottom-right: a 'Swipe' pill. Top-right: '1/5'. This furniture will
appear on every slide — it's what makes five designs feel like one."

**[7:00 — SCREEN: hook slide design]**
NARRATION: "Now the hook slide — the loudest slide in the set. Huge bold
headline: '5 TEA MISTAKES' — 'You're Making' underneath in orange. One
simple vector teapot icon. Three-second test: can a stranger get the
promise instantly? Yes. That's a hook."
SCREEN CUE: Design slide 1.

**[10:00 — SCREEN: duplicating pages]**
NARRATION: "Here's the pro move: I do NOT design four more slides from
scratch. Object Manager, Pages, right-click, Duplicate Page — four times.
Five identical pages. Now I just swap content: slide 2 gets 'MISTAKE #1'
and the kettle icon… slide 3, 'MISTAKE #2'… the template — fonts, margins,
furniture — never changes. Only content changes."
SCREEN CUE: Duplicate pages; fill slides 2–4 live (time-lapse friendly).

**[15:00 — SCREEN: CTA slide]**
NARRATION: "Slide 5 — the payoff. Deeper orange background: this slide
should feel like an arrival. 'BREW IT RIGHT' — 'Visit Cuppa Joy this
week.' One CTA button: 'FIND YOUR TEA'. Notice what's gone: the Swipe pill
— there's nothing left to swipe to. And the logo gets bigger. End with
one clear action, always."

**[18:00 — SCREEN: flip-through + export]**
NARRATION: "Flip-through check: one, two, three, four, five — same fonts,
same margins, numbers sequential, hooks on slides one through four. Now
export: Control+E, PNG, 1080 square — and name them with zero-padded
numbers: dash-01 through dash-05. Sorted by name, they upload in perfect
story order. Save the CDR with all five pages."
SCREEN CUE: Flip through; export the sequence; show the sorted folder.

**[21:30 — WRAP-UP]**
NARRATION: "Recap: plan the arc on paper — hook, problem, value, value,
CTA. Build one template, duplicate pages, swap content. One idea per slide.
Swipe hooks everywhere: pills, numbering, forward-pull phrases. Numbered
PNG exports, zero-padded. Your assignment: a five-slide carousel for Cuppa
Joy's Evening Chai Club. Tomorrow: YouTube — thumbnails that get clicked
