# Day-15 — Video Script: Build the Logo in CorelDRAW

**[0:00 — INTRO]**
NARRATION: "Welcome to Day 15. Yesterday you sketched twenty logo concepts
and picked your best three. Today, your best sketch becomes a real vector
logo — the exact workflow professional designers use. We'll trace it, build
a symbol-plus-wordmark combination mark, refine every curve, and apply the
optical corrections that separate amateur work from professional work."

**[1:00 — SCREEN: scanned sketch in CorelDRAW]**
NARRATION: "Step one: the template. File, Import — I bring in a photo of my
best sketch. Now open the Object Manager: Window, Dockers, Object Manager.
I rename this layer 'Sketch-Template', click the lock icon, and drop the
opacity to forty percent. Then I create a new layer called 'Logo-Artwork'.
We draw on the new layer; the sketch is just our guide underneath."
SCREEN CUE: Perform each action live; show the locked layer resisting
selection.

**[4:00 — SCREEN: Bezier tracing]**
NARRATION: "Now the Bezier Tool. Golden rule: place a node only where the
curve changes direction. Click for corners — click and drag for curves.
Watch: I'm tracing this wheat stalk. One smooth stem… grain shapes with
sharp tips. Count with me — I'm aiming for under twenty nodes for the whole
symbol. Auto-trace would give me two hundred. That's why professionals trace
by hand."
SCREEN CUE: Trace the symbol live at moderate speed; show node count.

**[9:00 — SCREEN: Shape Tool refinement at 200% zoom]**
NARRATION: "Zoom to two hundred percent. Shape Tool — F10. Delete the extra
nodes… fix the node types — cusp for the grain tips, smooth for the stem…
Now the mirror check: copy, flip, overlay. The left grain was drifting — I
fix it. At this zoom, every bump is visible, and every bump gets fixed."
SCREEN CUE: Refine live; show before/after.

**[13:00 — SCREEN: coloring the symbol]**
NARRATION: "Select the symbol. Shift+F11 — Uniform Fill — warm brown. F12 —
Outline Pen — set to None. Flat, clean, modern. No strokes on a logo unless
the design demands it."
SCREEN CUE: Fill and remove outline.

**[14:30 — SCREEN: wordmark with Text Tool]**
NARRATION: "The wordmark. Text Tool — F8 — type the brand name below the
symbol. Choose a clean, bold font — nothing thin, nothing gimmicky. Now the
critical step: select the text and press Control+Q. Convert to Curves. The
letters are now vector shapes. See? Shape Tool shows nodes on the letters.
This means I can adjust spacing by eye — and the logo will work on any
computer, even without this font installed."
SCREEN CUE: Type, convert, show nodes on letters.

**[18:00 — SCREEN: optical corrections]**
NARRATION: "Optical corrections — this is the pro secret. These round
letters look smaller than the flat ones, even though they measure the same.
So I nudge the round letters about one to two percent past the baseline.
Now the spacing: round letters need slightly tighter side gaps. I adjust
until squinting at it, everything looks even. Trust your eyes, not the
ruler."

**[21:30 — SCREEN: Align & Distribute docker]**
NARRATION: "Select symbol and wordmark. Window, Dockers, Align and
Distribute. Click Center — perfectly centered, no guessing. The gap between
them: about one x-height — the height of a lowercase x. Select all…
Control+G to group. Final checks: thumbnail size — readable? Four hundred
percent zoom — clean? Mirror it — symmetrical? It passes."

**[25:00 — WRAP-UP]**
NARRATION: "Today you learned the professional logo build: locked template
layer, manual Bezier tracing with minimum nodes, symbol plus wordmark,
Control+Q to convert text to curves, optical corrections by eye, and
precise alignment with the docker. Your assignment: build the full GreenNest
logo — symbol under twenty-five nodes — with build notes. Tomorrow: logo
