# Day 28 — Video Script
## Portfolio & Case Studies
**Runtime target: ~12–15 minutes | Instructor: Ali Akbar Shah**

**[0:00 — INTRO, camera on instructor]**
"Assalam-o-Alaikum! Day 28. Yesterday you built systems; today you build the thing that gets you hired: your portfolio. Remember — six excellent pieces beat thirty average ones. Let me show you how the pros do it."

**[0:45 — SCREEN: two portfolio grids side by side — 30 random images vs 7 strong ones]**
"Which designer would you hire? The one with thirty random exercises, or the one with seven stunning projects? Clients decide in under sixty seconds. Curation IS the skill."

**[1:45 — SCREEN: file folder of course work]**
"Step one: selection. Gather everything you made in this course. First pass — the three-second test. Look, decide: keep or cut. Hesitation means cut. Be ruthless; your portfolio is a film, and you are the editor."

**[3:00 — SCREEN: shortlist document]**
"Second pass — the 'more of this?' test. Ask: do I want clients hiring me for THIS? If you hate wedding cards, don't show them, or you'll drown in wedding cards. Aim for six to eight pieces, strongest first."

**[4:15 — SCREEN: a bare flyer image]**
"Now — a case study. This flyer alone is just a pretty image. Watch it become proof of skill with three acts: problem, process, result."

**[5:00 — SCREEN: case study page 2, 'Problem']**
"Act one — the problem. Who needed it, what was wrong before. Three to four short lines. Even for fictional briefs — label it 'concept project, fictional brief'. Honesty from line one."

**[6:00 — SCREEN: case study page 3, 'Process' — sketches and rejected concepts]**
"Act two — the process. This is what clients LOVE. Show the rejected directions. 'Concept A — rejected: too complex at small sizes.' This proves you think, not just decorate."

*[CUE: highlight one rejected concept; narrator explains the rejection reason]*

**[7:30 — SCREEN: case study page 4, construction/grid diagram]**
"Show your method — the grid, the safe area, the hierarchy. Ten seconds of diagram, and the client thinks 'this person is professional.'"

**[8:30 — SCREEN: case study pages 5–6, finals + deliverables]**
"Act three — the result. Final pieces, large and clean. Then a deliverables list: what files, what formats. End with your name and contact."

**[9:30 — SCREEN: behance.net, new project]**
"Now Behance — free, and it's where clients search. Upload in story order: cover, problem, process, finals, details. First line of the description states honestly: concept, client, or course project. Tag correctly — 'CorelDRAW', 'Logo Design', 'Branding'. Tags are how clients FIND you."

**[10:45 — SCREEN: cover crop demo]**
"Choose your cover crop carefully — shrink the browser. Still readable? Still attractive? That's your thumbnail competing against thousands."

**[11:30 — SCREEN: honesty checklist]**
"Final rule, and it's non-negotiable: label everything honestly. No fake testimonials. No invented sales numbers. No stolen work. One discovered lie ends a freelance career before it starts. Concept work, labeled honestly, impresses more than fake client work."

**[12:30 — OUTRO, camera on instructor]**
"Assignment: finalize your six-to-eight shortlist and build one complete case study. Tomorrow — Day 29 — freelancing: profiles, proposals, and pricing. Your portfolio is the weapon; tomorrow you learn where to aim it. Allah Hafiz!"
