**[0:00 — INTRO]**

"Assalam-o-Alaikum! I am Ali Akbar Shah. Welcome to Module 8 — Brand Identity
Design — and Day 24. Here is a secret of professional designers: the best logo
designers spend half the project NOT designing. Today you learn the front-end
of branding: reading a brief, asking smart questions, researching competitors,
and building a moodboard the client approves BEFORE you draw anything."

**[SCREEN CUE: Title slide — 'Day 24: Brief → Research → Moodboard'.]**

**[2:00 — THE BRIEF]**

"A brief is your project contract: what they sell, who buys it, what feeling
they want, what you must deliver, and when. Read it twice — once for facts,
once for gaps. And when a client says 'make it modern and nice' — that is not
permission to guess. That is a flashing sign that says: ask questions."

**[SCREEN CUE: Show the sample Crumb & Craft brief; highlight the gaps.]**

**[5:00 — THE 10 QUESTIONS]**

"Here are the ten questions I ask before every brand project: What do you
sell, and to whom? Who exactly is the customer? Give me three adjectives for
the feeling. Who are your three competitors — what do you like and dislike
about them? Where will the logo appear? Anything to avoid? Anything you love?
What exactly do you need delivered? Deadline? Budget? Write the answers down.
That document protects both of you later."

**[SCREEN CUE: The 10 questions on screen, one by one.]**

**[9:00 — COMPETITOR RESEARCH]**

"Now study three competitors. Not to copy — to find the GAP. Our three bakery
rivals all use red and yellow with cartoon wheat. Nobody owns warm, craft,
minimal. That empty territory? That is where our brand will live."

**[SCREEN CUE: Simple comparison table on screen.]**

**[12:00 — THE MOODBOARD]**

"A moodboard is one board that answers: 'Do you like this world?' Eight to
fifteen images: palette, typography, photography style, textures, icon style.
Notice — no finished logos. A moodboard shows a DIRECTION, not a design. And
every image must be lawful: your own work, or free-license stock. Never random
Google Images in client work. Ever."

**[SCREEN CUE: Build the A3 board live — File > New, A3 landscape; zones;
import assets; swatches with F11; align.]**

**[18:00 — PRESENTING]**

"Present two or three directions maximum. Name each one. Three sentences: why
it fits the brief, why it beats competitors — and your recommendation. Then
ask: 'Which direction should we develop?' And get the answer IN WRITING. Even
a WhatsApp 'yes, option 2' counts. That message will save you one day."

**[SCREEN CUE: Export JPG via File > Export; show the client-ready file.]**

**[21:00 — CLOSE]**

"Assignment: the full brief-to-moodboard pack for the fictional flower studio
Petal & Stem — details in Daily-Assignment.md. Tomorrow, Day 25: we finally
design — the logo, color, and typography SYSTEM. Allah Hafiz!"
