# Video Script — Day-05: Color Theory

**Course:** ARTTECHES Graphic Designing Mastery
**Module:** M03 — Color and Typography
**Instructor:** Ali Akbar Shah
**Estimated video length:** 30–35 minutes

## [INTRO — 0:00–2:00] (Instructor on camera, two flyers)

**Narration:**
"Welcome to Day 5 — we enter the world of color. Look at these two
flyers: same layout, same words — different colors. One looks premium,
one looks cheap. Color hits the eye BEFORE text, before images. And here
is the good news: color is not about taste or talent. It is a SYSTEM with
rules. Today: the color wheel, harmonies, RGB vs CMYK vs HEX, and the
60-30-10 palette formula. No more guessing."

**[Cue: split screen — same layout in a professional palette vs a chaotic
rainbow palette]**

---

## [OBJECTIVES — 2:00–3:00]

**Narration:**
"Today you will draw the 12-color wheel from memory, use all four
harmonies, control hue-saturation-value, pick the right color mode, and
build coded palettes in a real online tool."

---

## [SECTION 1 — THE WHEEL — 3:00–9:00] (Whiteboard drawing)

**Narration:**
"The color wheel — your new best friend. Primaries: red, yellow, blue —
the parents, cannot be mixed from anything. Secondaries: orange, green,
purple — the children, each mixed from two primaries. Tertiaries: the six
grandchildren between them. Twelve colors, and their POSITIONS are the
whole game — because harmonies are just position recipes."

**[Cue: draw and fill the wheel live, labeling P/S/T]**

---

## [SECTION 2 — HARMONIES — 9:00–16:00] (Wheel graphic + examples)

**Narration:**
"Four harmonies. Complementary: opposites — red versus green. Maximum
energy — but never 50-50, or it vibrates. One dominates, one accents.
Analogous: neighbors — yellow to green. Calm like a forest. Triadic: a
triangle — red, yellow, blue. Vibrant but balanced. Monochromatic: one
color, many shades — the safest choice on earth. Beginners: when in
doubt, go monochromatic or analogous."

**[Cue: animate each harmony on the wheel, then show a real design using it]**

---

## [SECTION 3 — HUE, SATURATION, VALUE — 16:00–20:00]

**Narration:**
"Every color has three properties. Hue: its name. Saturation: its
intensity — vivid versus gray. Value: its lightness — tint with white,
shade with black. This is the professional secret: a whole palette from
ONE hue, just by changing saturation and value."

**[Cue: live strips — one hue desaturating, then tinting, then shading]**

---

## [SECTION 4 — RGB VS CMYK VS HEX — 20:00–24:30]

**Narration:**
"Three color languages. RGB — red, green, blue LIGHT — for screens. CMYK
— cyan, magenta, yellow, black INK — for print. HEX — a six-digit code
like #FF5733 that names an exact web color. Critical rule: design in the
right mode for the destination. Screen job in CMYK or print job in RGB —
and your colors will betray you. Tomorrow we go deep on print color."

**[Cue: show the same vivid color on screen vs its duller CMYK print —
the gamut warning preview]**

---

## [SECTION 5 — 60-30-10 + DEMO — 24:30–29:30] (Screen recording)

**Narration:**
"The palette formula: 60 percent dominant, 30 percent secondary, 10
percent accent — plus a dark and a light neutral. Watch me build a juice
shop palette live in Adobe Color..." **[Cue: screen-record the full build
from the lesson notes — harmony choice, HEX codes, 60-30-10 assignment —
then the squint test.]**

---

## [MISTAKES — 29:30–31:00]

**Narration:**
"Mistakes: the rainbow — seven bright colors, no system. Complementary
50-50 vibration. Light gray text on white — check your contrast. And
picking your favorite color instead of the brief's color."

---

## [PRACTICE + RECAP — 31:00–34:00]

**Narration:**
"Exercise: Palette Doctor — diagnose and fix four broken palettes.
Assignment: three full coded palettes for the playland, the herbal shop,
and the mobile repair shop. Tomorrow, Day 6: color psychology — what
colors honestly communicate — plus designing for print. See you there!"

**[Cue: end screen — 'Day-05 Assignment: 3 Client Palettes with HEX codes']**
